Bobcat Stalking – $140 Black and white- Frame 19″ x 23″ This was taken on a cold morning along the shoreline. This cat came very close to me while it stalked its prey. I sat for many hours in hopes of seeing one of these beautiful creatures. Thankfully the prey wasn’t me, this time. She wanted something young and tender not something old and dried out.

The Photographer’s Statement
Hi, I’m a local wildlife photographer and I enjoy taking images of our natural beauty that’s surrounds us in CT. I concentrate mainly on Madison and Guilford. All of these photos are of wild creatures in their own habitat. I try very hard not to disturb them. I’m normally wearing camouflage clothing to help with the capture of the photos. I believe the animals inherently know that I don’t mean them any harm. Their actions and state of relaxation is clearly visible. Mother animals are extremely focused on me if their young are around, as the moms should be. I had one bobcat mom circle behind me and watch me watch her kittens. I didn’t know she was there until a predator came into the area and she quickly came past me to protect her kittens.
These are some of my favorite photos and each has a story that I’ll probably never forget. That’s saying a lot for me, who doesn’t recall what I had for breakfast. There’s something about the excitement of waiting motionless for hours and then silently a magical bobcat, fox, or owl appears. In winter my fingers turn blue as I wait in the bitter cold. Every once in a while it’s worth the wait and the discomfort.
Countless hours can be spent to capture one image. Months of tracking and planning go into some shots. Thousands of miles were driven in Guilford and Madison often based on a reported sighting in one area or another. I spent weeks driving to Derby in search of a pair of bobcats. I drove to Southbury many times after hearing of sightings. I’ve taken hundreds of thousands of photos of things in our natural world, then spent almost the same amount of time on the computer looking at each photo and then editing the raw files into something that as closely as possible recreates what I saw as the sun just started to light the surroundings. It’s a magical time. Most of if not all of these photos have been posted on my Facebook page
I’ve thrown in a couple of landscape shots and some flowers. If you scroll back on my facebook page there will be back stories on all of these photos. If you see something that interests you, please let me know.
I hope you enjoy all these images.
Options and Formats
Many of these photos shown are experiments. I try different media such as mica infused metallic papers, canvas prints, and over a hundred different types of paper. Bottom line. Not everyone likes what the next person likes. Framing is difficult because someone may like the image but not the frame. The frame may not go with their decor. For this reason I try to provide many options and don’t mind re-editing an image to fit your circumstances. My goal is to provide you what you want. Here’s a link to options and pricing http://www.thechurchillgallery.com/pricing/ . Don’t hesitate to call me at 203-421-4214 and ask if something can be done to match your idea. Tell me what you’re looking for. Tell me what your favorite animal, bird, or location is. I’ve probably taken photos of it already. Thank you for getting this far.
